What we notice indoors

Before Clocktower Property Ltd buys a house, we stand in the main room and look at the light, the glass, and anything that is already tired. The pictures here show the sort of rooms that come up. They are not homes listed for sale today.

Light and the glass

A wall of windows tells you a lot: whether they shut, whether the frames are tired, and how the room feels at the time of day we visit. We also look at the ceiling and the floor under the seating. Marks and damp are written down, even when they are old.

If people live there, the visit is only at a time they have agreed.

The room as it is

Rugs, chairs, and hangings are not what we are buying. We look past them at the walls, the windows, and whether the room is dry. A sticking sash or a cold corner goes in the note we keep before we decide.

The same rooms, if we sell

When a house of ours is for sale, a viewer sees the rooms at a time we set. We say what we found on our own walk, in plain sentences.
